You will need to be highly proactive to gain the engagement of the students and to keep positive behaviours.
To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate should:
- Relevant Qualifications - for example, Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a background in Youth Work, Psychology, Counselling, or similar fields.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
- Strong behaviour management experience and understanding of implementing stratefies to help manage and improve behaviours.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pupils, staff, and parents, building positive relationships and offering clear guidance.
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly around conditions such as ADHD, Autism, or Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an education or childcare role is essential
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
- Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 references
