The School and Role

An Alternative Provision school based in Bournemouth are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start in September or as soon as possible. The school caters for secondary age pupils aged 11 - 16 years with Autism (ASD) and social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour. All students have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

This support assistant role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support young people to access education. You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, and also with their social and emotional development.

Requirements 

The desired Teaching Assistant will have;

- Experience of working with primary and/or secondary school aged children

- Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH and challenging behaviour.

- A passion for the progress of pupils

- An ability to work as part of a team
