About the School:


  • The school serves students aged 11-18 years.
  • It offers a bespoke education provision, following a person-centered approach.
  • The focus is on providing high-quality education for students with complex needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • The school fosters a welcoming, creative environment and encourages students to achieve their personal best while building confidence.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in delivering in-class activities, promoting independent learning, and encouraging social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support behaviour, learning, and personal development.
  • Build trusting relationships with students to help them re-engage with their learning.
  • Help students replace feelings of frustration with a sense of belonging and success.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or residential setting.
  • Knowledge of complex needs, associated learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management strategies like Team Teach, NAPPI, or MAPPA.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and external professionals, such as counsellors or mental health specialists.
  • An Enhanced DBS (Child Only) registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one via GSL Education.
