Walsall, Birmingham, Full-time, long-term position  



Salary (depending on experience): £90-£120

The Supply Register are working exclusively for all recruitment requirements for the following Primary school in Walsall, Birmingham: Academy Transformation Trust. This Primary school located in Walsall, is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant who is available to start immediately. This SEMH school provides tailored education for students with various learning disabilities and difficulties. The school is dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally. This Academy believes in putting children and young people at the heart of all that they do and that every student should feel safe and receive a first-class education to ensure they are well prepared for the next phase of their lives, within education, training, or employment. 





About you  





  • An enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and has experience of working with children of relevant age with additional needs, in a similar setting.  






  • The successful candidate will be motivated, patient, and able to use their own initiative.  






  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy and literacy skills. 






  • Must have obtained higher-level Teaching Assistant status / Level 4 qualification. 




Requirements  





  • Co-lead the management, coordination and implementation of academy wide and individual behaviour management systems.  






  • Supervision of students at lunchtimes and to contribute to a safe, calm and orderly environment. 






  • Ability to guide and support children with SEN (ages of 5-11) 






  • Ability to communicate clearly and articulately 






  • Inquisitive towards children, good relationship building 






  • Ability to create an encouraging and appropriate learning environment for children with SEN 






  • Empathetic, understanding, encouraging and sensitivity towards children and their needs 






  • Ability to carry out tasks involving a computer or hand-device 






  • Resilient, ability to respond calmly and constructively when under stress 






  • Adaptable and flexible work attitude 






  • Ability to learn and use a range of strategies to deal with classroom and individual behaviour
