Justteachers is seeking aBehaviour Mentorto join anAlternative Provision (AP) on the Outskirts of Lowestoft on along-term basis. Thefull-timepost is due to startas soon as possible, with shortlisting currently taking place.
This AP supports11-16-year-old studentswho require an alternative approach to education, focusing onengagement, personal development, and preparing for further education or employment. The provision offers astructured and supportive environmentto help students manage their behaviour, build resilience, and achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
Supporting students with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation.
Working closely with teachers and staff to create a structured and supportive learning environment.
Provide1:1 and small group behaviour support, helping students developemotional regulation and coping strategies.
Assist indelivering engaging lessonsby supporting classroom management and student participation.
Implementindividual behaviour support plans (BSPs)in collaboration with teachers and pastoral staff.
Usede-escalation techniques and positive reinforcementto manage challenging behaviours.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Support Work, Youth Work, or equivalent experience).
Proven experience working with students with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in an alternative provision setting.
Strong knowledge of de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
Two education or school-based references.
Right to work in the UK.
