DK Recruitment are recruiting for a Benefits & Money Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will deliver a high-performing, customer-focused service, ensuring the provision and development of quality advice and information on money, benefits, and other social welfare matters.
About the Role:
  • Contribute to the organization’s corporate objectives by delivering a proactive and preventative income management service.
  • Increase awareness and promote benefit entitlements, fostering a culture of payment and assisting in maximizing customer income.
  • Provide information, training, and advice to colleagues on welfare and benefit-related matters.
  • Assist in improving services, and help in developing policies and procedures.
  • Deliver training to customers on benefits, money management, and budgeting, emphasizing their rights and responsibilities.
  • Manage a caseload of complex benefit appeal cases and represent customers at hearings as needed.
  • Stay informed on relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices, especially in relation to welfare benefits and Welfare Reform.
Who We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Proven experience in providing advice on money, benefits, and welfare.
  • Experience in calculating benefit entitlements, identifying errors, and addressing under-claimed benefits.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers, often in sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of available benefits and the process for claiming them, including those for EU nationals.
  • Experience with benefit appeals and tribunal representation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings as needed.
  • A valid UK (or equivalent) driving license and access to a vehicle.
