Bid Manager London or Bath / HybridExperienced Bid Manager to join an established Bid Team within the engineering sector. As Bid Manager you will be involved in managing, coaching, and mentoring a small team of bid co-ordinators, ensuring they have the right skillset to successfully co-ordinate bids. Taking ownership for the end-to-end Bid Process, drawing on best practise sources such as APMP and Shipley to improve efficiency and streamline procedures.Bid Manager Key AccountabilitiesProviding coaching and mentoring support to your direct reports and the junior members of the wider bid team where necessaryRecognising the skillset of the team and utilising that to the advantage of the business, applying the relevant resource to the appropriate bids based on requirementsParticipating in training and company update sessions to ensure you continue to develop as a line manager and provide your team with the best supportAssisting with the development of others beyond the bid team, educating technical and non-technical staff on how to manage a bid effectively, guiding them through the processPrioritising your time on strategic bid pursuits where possible, recognising the impact to the bid spend of having more senior resources working on lower value bidsEnsuring all bids follow the Bid-No-Bid process before agreeing to support, providing input and research to support the decision. You will chair the Bid-No-Bid Board meeting alongside the Director of UK Bid ManagementLiaising with the Commercial and Legal Team on a regular basis to ensure they are informed of all bidding activity, and stay informed of potential contractual / legislative or risk aspects Job titleCreating additional bespoke content for the submission, by interviewing the necessary technical team members to capture the right storyEnsuring that all submissions are well written, compliant with what the client has asked for, and are in line with agreed themes, brand and corporate message. Challenge any content that falls short of meeting the expected standard and scoreArranging and participating in mock-interviews to maximise our chances of winning at interview stageBid Manager Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in Bid-oriented roles at Senior or Managerial levelStrong copywriting and copy-editing skillsPrevious experience of coordinating and managing tight deadlinesLine management and or mentoring / coaching experienceExcellent computer and IT skills including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign specifically), Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience of using spreadsheets and databasesPrevious experience within an architectural practice, construction or engineering industries would be an advantageIf this role is of interest and you have the experience, please contact Lisa Easthope on 0208 126 4537 or email #####
