Bid Manager
Location: It is a hybrid role, currently 3 days in the office at Duxbury.
We are seeking a skilled, driven, and experienced Bid Manager to join our Business Development team, contributing to our leading position in the Grounds Maintenance industry and driving profitability through business growth. The successful candidate will lead the creation of compelling bids for large-scale green space contracts in both public and private sectors.
As a key member of the Business Development team, you will report to the Head of Business Development and oversee the bid process. Your role will involve managing bid production, leading a team of Bid Writers, and deputising for the Head of Business Development as needed. Candidates should possess strong writing and project management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. Organisational and time-management abilities are essential. Knowledge of commercial contracts and financial aspects of bids is beneficial.

Day-to-Day Duties
  • Project managing high value bids
  • Managing and coaching our Bid Writers
  • Planning and writing high-quality bid documents
  • Driving the continuous improvement of the Bid Library and Case Studies
  • Managing the compliance and completeness of tender submissions
  • Creating a strong and effective contact network within the business
  • Working closely with the Head of Business Development and deputising when needed
  • Managing value-adding projects such as submissions for industry awards

Experience
  • A proven ability to write professionally, preferably in a bidding environment
  • Working in a time-critical role and adhering to strict deadlines
  • Project managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively
