As a BMS Junior Software Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop and deliver cutting-edge Building and Energy Management Systems (BEMS). This flexible role is primarily based Coulsdon, with occasional travel to project sites across London.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing BMS software solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support project teams by identifying and resolving potential design issues.
- Participate in internal design reviews, applying feedback to improve solutions.
- Aid in factory and on-site commissioning as required.
- Help ensure projects meet high-quality standards and client expectations.
- Understand the scope of assigned tasks and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Submit weekly timesheets to ensure accurate job costing.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain a proactive and cooperative approach with colleagues.
- Continuously learn and develop technical expertise by working alongside experienced team members.
Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), such as Distech, Schneider, Tridium, or Delta.
- Familiarity with BMS communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet).
- Ability to interpret technical documents (e.g., operation descriptions, panel drawings, points lists).
- Some exposure to software programming concepts and a willingness to adopt best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of IT networks and IP-based systems.
- Understanding of smart building integrations and naming conventions.
- CSCS cardholder (or willingness to obtain one).
