BMS Senior Projects Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits
Overview: Join a dynamic and growing engineering company with a diverse client base and a wealth of exciting projects. I am seeking a skilled Senior Projects Engineer to manage prestigious engineering projects and contribute to my clients ongoing award-winning success.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of small projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Assist the sales team and projects manager with site surveys and initial design feedback.
- Project Review & Compliance:
- Review projects during handover from sales or projects manager to ensure technical compliance and financial alignment.
- Address any queries regarding specifications and drawings promptly with the sales and projects manager.
- Client & Internal Reporting:
- Issue weekly project reports to clients and Directors.
- Collaborate with the projects manager to raise requests for information, submit technical submittals, and progress designs.
- Subcontractor & Supplier Management:
- Assist in sourcing subcontractors for panels and installation.
- Support the creation and distribution of work programs to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Procurement & Financial Control:
- Oversee the procurement of project equipment, ensuring authorizations are obtained from the projects manager.
- Assist in the financial management of projects, including monthly client applications and sub-contractor claims.
- Health & Safety:
- Maintain Health and Safety standards, including conducting risk assessments and preparing method statements.
- Site Work & Commissioning:
- Carry out site work, software design, installation, commissioning, and production of O&M manuals as required.
- Manage site-based staff and labour to ensure efficient project progression.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous engineering experience with Trend Control Systems.
- Proficiency in a second system engineering capability.
- Ability to produce detailed and accurate reports for descriptions of operations.
- Experience in software production or modification and graphics creation (generally done in-house).
- Competence in reading and working from electrical/panel drawings.
- Previous experience in a project engineering role.
- Electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds/NVQ3).
- CSCS Card.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Ipaf, Pasma) are desirable.
