About the Role:
As a Bricklaying Tutor, you will deliver practical and theoretical courses across multiple locations in Northern Ireland, equipping learners with essential skills in bricklaying. You will guide apprentices through NVQs, Diplomas, and other vocational qualifications, helping them achieve their career goals. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time role based in Strabane or L'Derry, with travel required across Northern Ireland, so a full clean driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality training in bricklaying, from Level 1 to Level 3 NVQs and Diplomas.
- Teach a combination of classroom, workshop, and online-based courses.
- Assess learners' skills and knowledge through practical training and on-site assessments.
- Create individual learning plans and support learners with varying abilities, including those with additional educational needs.
- Provide constructive feedback and help learners build portfolios of evidence.
- Participate actively in the monitoring and assessment of learner progress.
- Act as a mentor and guide to learners, assisting in securing work placements where required.
- Travel to learner workplaces across Northern Ireland to deliver on-site training and assessments.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience with strong occupational knowledge.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A full clean driving license.
- Ability to manage multiple learners and assessments efficiently.
Desirable Criteria:
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Bricklaying or equivalent.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
- A recognised Assessor Award (D33/A1) or a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
- Experience in delivering NVQs and apprenticeship training.
- A teaching qualification such as a Level 4 Certificate in Teaching, PGCE, or equivalent.
