About the Role - BSL Teaching Assistant - Newham
- Support children with hearing impairments, helping them engage in lessons and classroom activities.
- Assist in small groups or 1:1, ensuring students with hearing impairments can participate fully in their academic studies.
- Provide motivation and encouragement to help students become independent learners.
- Liaise with the class teacher, sharing student progress and discussing support strategies.
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where students feel confident and supported.
- Work closely with students to ensure they have access to the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.
Ideal Candidate - BSL Teaching Assistant - Newham
- British Sign Language (BSL) qualification Level 2 minimum.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Passionate about working with children in the deaf community.
- Ability to promote independence and support the development of social skills.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Must be able to commute to Newham.
