Thatcher Associates is assisting a Multi Academy Trust with the selection and appointment of a Site Manager / Building Manager to oversee one of their academies in Bristol.





The Trust



Our client is a large Multi Academy Trust with a significant number of schools located across the length and breadth of the UK encompassing primary and secondary education facilities.





The Role



They plan to appoint a Site Manager / Building Manager who will be based full time at one of their schools in Greater Bristol. The core function of the role is as follows:






  • To ensure the structural upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the academy including the buildings, grounds and plant machinery.

  • To ensure equipment, facilities, sports areas and classrooms meet the needs of the academies.

  • To ensure all activities and work undertaken meets the H&S standards and are compliant with internal policies.





Responsibilities will include:




  • Oversee the activity of two Assistant Site Managers / Building Managers.

  • Ensure the security and safety of the Academy, managing the alarm and CCTV systems and contracts. This may involve outside of the normal working day on a rota basis.

  • Regularly assess the condition of premises, grounds and facilities, prioritising maintenance and improvement works as required.

  • Oversee the Academies PPM and Reactive Maintenance budgets.

  • Work alongside the Academy Business Partner to plan and produce work schedules, appointing external contractors to undertake works as required.

  • Oversee on-site grounds work to ensure a safe and tidy environment. This might include litter management, additional mowing, sports markings, gritting and snow safety measures.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.

  • Monitor all maintenance and improvement works on site, ensuring high quality standards and minimising the disruption to students.
