Building Regulations advisor - Yorkshire (hybrid/remote with occasional office visits 1-2 days per week max) - well established national consultancy business with operations across education, healthcare, residential and retail projects.
Salary £60k-£70k+benefits package (negotiable for the right person). This is a new role, created off the back of the changes happening in the industry related to the Building Regulations and Building Control Regime. This role will support internal teams in providing Building Regulations compliance and control advice, supported by a Lead Advisor who operates nationally from the Yorkshire region.
The role would suit a Building Control professional with several years of experience in the sector, offering their services to a range of clients and projects. Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to the client-facing nature of the role.
Duties:
• Provide Building Regulations support to our external project teams and internal design team (including Principal Designer).
• Undertake inspections, site visits and prepare reports.
• Provide advice on building control processes (e.g. notices, notifications etc).
• Undertake systematic reviews of designs and inspections to inform the extent of building regulations compliance.
• Provide advice and training on matters related to Building Safety Act, secondary legislation affecting building control processes.
• Liaise with duty-holders, and other parties to ensure compliance on projects.
• Attend client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control regulations.
• Chair workshops internally and externally.
• Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.
Requirements:
• Relatable built environment degree..
• Membership to CABE, CIOB or RICS.
• Relevant academic qualification
• Experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
• Excellent knowledge of approved documents, design processes, building regulations, codes and legislation.
