Job Overview:

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to manage the Facilities Management function, ensuring alignment with the Council's objectives and service plan. The role involves overseeing maintenance, repairs, and small capital works across a diverse portfolio of Council assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the Small Works and Repairs Section, including staff and budget management.
• Formulate and implement the service plan, contributing to the Council's corporate objectives.
• Manage inspections, repairs, and maintenance for Council-owned buildings.
• Oversee small capital works, building repairs, and statutory inspections.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including health and safety regulations.
• Liaise with external contractors, prepare technical specifications, and manage service contracts.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and relevant legislation.
• Experience in managing budgets, staff, and contractors.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
