Job descriptionTotal People are looking to recruit a Tutor who will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and assessing students on the Bus and Coach - Level 3 StandardThe Tutor will support the apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required to be demonstrated within the apprenticeship. This will consist of coaching and mentoring sessions, knowledge delivery through teaching sessions that will be run at our classroom and workshops in Perivale. You will be required to teach in both the classroom and the workshop environment, complete guidance, and mock end point assessments to ensure that apprenticeships are ready for the independent assessment at the end of their apprenticeship.You will work closely with other Learning coach’s to ensure that the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom will be embedded in the workplace. You will take part in discussions with employers to build good relationships and be involved in updating all parties on the apprentice’s journey through progress reviews.You will be expected to embed maths and English into your delivery to ensure that learners that do not have the required level of Functional skills or equivalent can pass the exams.This post is offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week (at our Perivale - London site), we would consider part time applications. The successful applicant must be flexible, confident and an excellent communicator.Key Responsibilities include:Fulfil teaching commitments which will consist of both classroom and workshop environment.Manage and maintain a caseload of learners as agreed with your line manager and carry out regular learner interventionsEnsure evidence for learning, achievement, funding, and Ofsted is captured effectively and timely including:20% OJT requirements are fully met and recorded as per procedureLearners achieve the highest grade in EPA they are capable ofProgressIndividualised learning programmes, agreed with employer and learner based on initial assessments and including Maths and EnglishEngage the learner’s line manager, making clear their responsibilities and working collaboratively to provide support, guidance, and opportunities for learningPlan the end point assessment process with learners and employers, ensuring preparation and practice is included in the learning planInspire and motivate learners and identify any barriers and adapt to your learners’ needsMotivate and drive learners to achieve their qualifications on time.Deliver Maths and English (and ICT where applicable), to support the learner’s achievement and progress in these areasEnsure marking and feedback to the learner is accurate and supports their developmentWork closely with IQA’s on best practice, development needs and providing sampling, monitoring as detailed in the IQA plan.Maintain a positive working relationship with employers ensuring progression and new leads are generatedProduce accurate and timely reports as agreed with your line manager based on your KPI’sContribute to the production of high quality learning materialsLiving the values of the Group through positive behaviours and attitudeTo actively contribute to the Total Peoples commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children, young people and vulnerable adults.Qualifications, Experience & SkillsEssentialRelevant occupational sector experience and relevant qualifications (at a level 3 or higher than delivery)Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or equivalent, or willing to undertakeAbility to deliver high quality, effective coaching that meets learner needsAbility to deliver engaging and interactive teaching in the work shop to meet learners needs.Excellent level of skills in written and oral and presentational areas, understanding the importance of focus on the audience to support learningAbility to plan, paying attention to detail and a track record in developing and delivering robust, effective, prioritised plans which achieve KPIs and strategic aimsProactively drive learner performance and engagementTo be customer focused, having the ability to present Total People in a positive manner, persuading and influencing where necessarySeeks continuous improvement – seeks to improve processes and implement and embed changesDesirableCoaching qualificationTeaching qualification Cert ed/CTTLS/DTTLSKnowledge of Government funded trainingTAQA, AVA, A1 or D32/33 Assessor QualificationBenefits:Fully flexible working pattern– responsibility for planning your own diaryCompetitive SalarySignificant pension contributionAll equipment is provided to complete the roleGenerous annual leave entitlementDevelopment opportunities through our own in-house programmes and recognised qualificationsStaff employee discount scheme for online shopping, days out with ‘You at work’Healthcare discountsTotal People is an equal opportunities employer.
