B.D.M / Technical Sales Engineer - Calibration Experts

Are you an experienced sales professional with a technical engineering background? Do you have the drive to hunt new opportunities and maximise current client potential?

Due to growth, my client is seeking a Business Development Manager, ideally with an understanding of metrology or calibration.

Working for a global expert in the calibration industry, you will be servicing a variety of markets inc aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, energy, electrical and more

Package:

  • Base salary: circa �40,000
  • 20% Performance related bonus
  • Car Allowance
  • Pension Contribution

The Role:

  • Seeking out new business opportunities and initiating contact.
  • Lead bid / tender process for clients within your region
  • Create and carry out presentations to clients
  • Report on the status of competition encountered (technical and price performance)
  • Working with UK senior management team to achieve Group/UK budgetary objectives
  • Liaising with internal sales teams to ensure comprehensive quotations.
  • Submit reports and forecasts as requested by the UK Sales Director
  • Participate in local, regional, national and Global trade shows as required

Competencies Required:

  • Proven experience and success in both sales development and the development of new clients (Metrology sales would be preferential)
  • Knowledge of the calibration market is highly desirable - Electrical Instrumentation or mechanical, dimensional, force torque, OEM's
  • Must have excellent analytical and organisational skills with verbal, written persuasion and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point is essential, plus experience in the use of CRM systems

The Ideal Candidate will be:

  • Steady under pressure with the ability to multi task
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets as the role is results driven
  • Willing to travel as the role will be based over a geographical location
  • Must have a full, clean driving license
