Purpose of jobOur aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.The Land BDM will be responsible for building and maintaining a network of partners which will help the sourcing and acquisition of land inline with annual targets. The Land BDM will establish and nurture a sustainable growth pipeline by sourcing new relationships and evolving existing partnerships with key landowners, property agents, developers, and property segment stakeholders supporting with achievement of our growth targets. We are looking for an individual who can step into this team ready to take on new challenges. We value strong people who can build new relationships quickly and leverage existing ones to achieve mutually beneficial goals.Key AccountabilitiesThe role is responsible for the following:Building and maintaining effective relationships with a network of agents, landowners, promoters and other vendors and partners, identifying and progressing suitable development opportunities.Controlling the appraisal process, working alongside the development, commercial, planning and technical teams, guiding developments through the pre-application and planning process.Co-ordinating with project teams and relevant stakeholders to develop option appraisals, securing board approvals and monitoring budgets in line with governance and regulatory requirements.Providing accurate project reports and updates with regards to new sites and sites with offers in place to mitigate potential deterioration in time, cost and quality outcomes.Managing the new business and bidding process for charging hub land developments and joint venture development bids with partners.Advising on market value of land, demonstrating a methodology and approach to valuations.Developing land acquisition strategy for both small and large sites acquisition.Ensuring prompt identification of opportunities and an efficient process to ensuring Zest’s offers are put forward to the landowner / agent.Results and Key performance indicatorsLand opportunity volumes successfully appraised from new leads and existing partnersEnsuring customer deliverables are produced and delivered in a timely mannerCollation and provision of supply chain and logistics audit and maintenance informationCreation of land valuations and advice that allows informed decision making and results in targets of land acquisition being achievedOutstanding customer and potential customer experienceWork completed on time, to a high standardManagement of the end-to-end process to ensure successful customer facing content creationUp-to-date and accurate sales ledger and CRM information, relating to the ability to create meaningful MIClear progression of capabilities and achievement against personal development plan, and the PDP’s of any indirectly or directly managed FTE’sAbility to innovate to create new ways of working and ideas that increases the success rate of land acquisition whilst ensuring value to the businessDelivery of internal tactical objectivesKey RelationshipsInternal – CDO, CEO, Channel Partner Team, Operations Team, Commercial Team, Legal Team, Head of Channel PartnerExternal – Land Agents, Landowners, Developers, Local Authorities, OperatorsKnowledge and SkillsExcellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skillsExcellent negotiation skillsAbility to use own intuition and ‘think out of the box’ to source pipeline opportunities.Good organisational, time management and leadership skillsExperience in a similar role, working within a Land Acquisition team, purchasing and delivering sites for a private or public organisation.A solid network of relationships with land vendors, agents and other stakeholders across the operating geography.Strong organisational skills, with experience communicating with external and internal stakeholders.Experience in networking and building relationships within the land development sector.An understanding of planning policy, maintaining up to date knowledge of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPFF) and have an awareness of relevant Local Authority Neighbourhood and Local Plans.Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.BehavioursHands-on approach to deliverablesCan-do attitudeDriven & results orientatedHighly self-motivatedAble to build effective and positive relationships and influence positive outcomesHighly effective communication skillsCommitted to a high standard of performanceResilient and not failure adverseEnvironmentally conscientiousQualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalentZest is an equal opportunity employer, committed to the values and ultimately societal benefits of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
