Note: Only candidates authorized to work in UK and AmsterdamPosition Summary:At the Rainforest Alliance we are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the development of new impactful business opportunities. This individual will be responsible to drive business growth by developing launch packs and go-to-market strategies for new offerings, working hand in hand with several functions within the organization.In the short term, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing the launch packs of new Rainforest Alliance offerings, like Regenerative Agriculture and Climate that will allow for further differentiation beyond our current certification program.As part of this role, the individual will ensure the multi-functional team members work together to define a clear pack for each offering, including value proposition, product benefits and key features, target, pricing, business case, business model and communication material. He/She will work with Rainforest Alliance employees from Programs, Data & Tech, Account Management, Regions, Revenue, Marketing and Communication, Finance, etc…The Business Development manager will be part of the Business Development team and will report directly to the Senior Manager Business Development Growth and Local Markets. He/She will be supported by a Senior Associate Business Development.Responsibilities:Anchor new offerings in market reality and producer & corporate needs through competitive intelligence and market insights:Research Regenerative Agriculture and Climate approach from other organizationsConnect with Account Managers to gather insights from key companies interested in the new offeringsIdentify links with external frameworks (SDGs, SBTi, SBTN, TNFD, TCFD, reporting, legislations…)Work with Account Managers to define a panel of trusted corporate partners to test the new offerings. Implement identified improvements before grow and scale.Develop new offerings Packs and Go-to-Market Strategies for identified opportunities, including the value proposition, offering, target, pricing, and communication.Responsible for the Portfolio management process for new offerings (prepare gate documents working with the innovation team, support team members in preparing Leadership Team gate meetings)Support Account Managers in the pitch of these new offerings to selected companies.Identify Key Performance Indicators to assess the success of each offering with customers. Qualifications:BA or Master’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. business administration, economy or international development.At least 5 years of experience in business development, innovation, sales in B2B environment, relationship building, corporate affairs or marketingExperience in developing business and revenue models, or marketing mixes and launch packs;Knowledge of corporate sustainability frameworks (GRI, TNFD, SBTi, SBTN…), sector partnerships/platforms, CSR, responsible sourcing commitments/policies and voluntary certification programsStrong business acumen and interpersonal skills with experience of achieving results through influencingExcellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills in English;Self-starter that can work independently to manage own workload with minimal supervision and work effectively as well as part of a teamExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals;Professional and mature approach with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels including Senior ManagementThe Rainforest Alliance is creating a more sustainable world by using social and market forces to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and forest communities.
