Business Development Manager - Solar

My client is a market-leading solar business that provides full turnkey solutions to end users, construction companies and contractors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive sales of solar panel and associated renewable energy technology. This is suitable for business development manager, senior sales managers, national sales managers, regional sales managers or sales directors with experience of solar PV systems, battery storage, roof safety, roof ventilation or bespoke ventilation fabrication

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share for sustainable smart roofing solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and key account management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry influencers
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and sales initiatives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and product development
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction or sustainable building materials industry
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth
  • Strong understanding of sustainable building practices, smart technologies, and the construction industry
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and oversee projects

Package:

  • Base salary �60,000 to �70,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus approximately �30,000
  • Car or �7,000 allowance
  • 8% pension
  • Private health insurance
