Are you an experienced Business Development Manager looking for a role that gives you the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on ambitious growth plans?We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) management team at Walker Morris. The M&BD management team includes the M&BD Director, Marketing & Communications Manager, Bid & Proposals Manager, and the CRM & Operations Manager. Walker Morris is a commercial law firm with 61 partners and 328 lawyers across 18 practice areas. As the Business Development Manager you'll support all partners, departments and sectors across the firm. Utilising an account-based marketing approach, youll strategically plan and drive activities, acquire new large accounts, and expand our services to existing clients, contributing to the firms ambitious growth plans.Our solicitors are our sales force who build relationships with their clients and seek new opportunities for the firm. You'll design and implement a sales enablement programme, streamlining BD efforts for our lawyers through brochures, credentials documents, educational materials, product campaigns, BD training and toolkits. Additionally, you'll mentor and guide our legal teams, helping them reach their BD potential, by identifying target clients and pursuing opportunities with both new and existing clients. Collaborating with other M&BD team managers, you'll shape our Illuminate programme, designed to attract, win and expand General Counsel and other in-house legal-led accounts. Furthermore, you'll optimise events, utilising them effectively as for BD and lead generation. As part of your responsibilities, you'll oversee two direct reports, providing mentorship and development.What we are looking for:Experience of successfully developing and driving client/target plans, ideally within a professional services environment or partnership. Experience of preparing informal proposals and credentials documents. An understanding of sales enablement, understanding what fee-earners need to confidently and easily find, pursue and successfully close opportunities.Ideally, a broad knowledge of law firm offerings, from the transactional through to what it takes to win and manage institutional relationships.Experience/knowledge of events management is preferred. Ability to build strong relationships and manage multiple senior stakeholders.Proactivity in presenting ideas and innovative solutions for successful business development and be able to persuade and influence partners to those initiatives.Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of the Firm's business and clients.A proven ability to manage a team, developing skills and encouraging a result-focused commitment to excellence.Why join Walker Morris:When youre looking for a job, we know it's about more than just the role.
