Role Objective

Reporting to and taking day-to-day direction from the Sales Manager, you will manage assigned accounts and new business to drive revenue and profit growth through new opportunities/projects/relationship management, working closely with the Account Manager for that area/account.

This Business Development Manager role also involves assisting the sales team in achieving the sales strategy, quality objectives and business goals, supporting sales growth on assigned accounts, ensuring margin integrity, delivering effective contract management and derisking assigned accounts, taking into account customer politics, company and departmental objectives, targets, and measurements.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Business Development Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage assigned accounts - Maintain and grow the sales profit for the accounts designated to you.
  • Field-based - Visiting new opportunities and current customers each week.
  • Proactively seek new business - Use leads and opportunities/projects whilst maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Update CRM with all calls.
  • Forecast - Work alongside the AM to provide accurate forecasts for each financial year.
  • Analyse sales patterns.
  • Assist at trade shows/exhibitions when required.

Essential Skills

The successful candidate must have the following job skills:

  • 5+ years of pneumatic experience
  • 5+ years of field-based sales in the medical and life science industry
  • A great communicator and cross-departmental collaborator
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Deadline and SLA drive
  • Able to conduct data analysis
Desirable Skills

It is also imperative that the successful candidate can manage and build our Client Relationship:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, understanding their needs and objectives.
  • SAP management - Keeping the account details up to date on SAP, including key contracts/contracts/risk score/marketing information.
  • Contract maintenance - Ensuring contracts are updated, filed away, and recorded on the CRM.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by resolving escalated client issues.
  • Spotting new project opportunities - Working with engineering to collaborate with the new customer.
