Reporting to the EVP – Strategy & Business Development, the role will focus on M&A and strategic planning.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the team in the management of M&A processes: transformational M&A, asset sales, bolt-on acquisitions and minority stake transactions:Assist senior members of the team in origination, sourcing, screening and prioritization of opportunitiesMaintenance of company dataroomAssist in the review of acquisition and investment opportunities, including Modeling analysis, Due diligence process management, and Assist senior members of the team in the preparation of presentation to the executive committee and the boardAssist in preparation and management of asset disposal processes, including: sell-side financial model, dataroom, and infomemoMaintenance of company dataroomManage the company’s corporate financial model:Periodically update the corporate financial model based on developments in the businessContinuously improving the corporate financial model to ensure it remains an agile, robust and powerful business planning toolProvide model scenario analysis for multiple stakeholders across the organization, including:Refinancing analysis for corporate debtScenario analysis for project study workPreparation of business plans to be presented to host-country representativesPreparation of “Selling cases” for any asset disposal processActive involvement in strategic planning:Core member of team running the group-wide strategic planning processAnalyse potential organic growth and business improvement opportunities from both a financial and strategic perspectiveWork closely with mine sites and technical teams to challenge and prioritise strategic prioritiesPreparation of presentation materials and model outputs for senior management and the boardPOSITION REQUIREMENTSEngineering, accounting or business degree.Minimum 5-6 years’ relevant work experience in areas including investment management, investment banking, equity research, project finance, corporate development.Financial modelling experience is essential.Strong analytical & presentation skills.Metals & Mining or natural resources background preferred.French speaker is a plus.
