Business Development Manager

Our client, a world leader in supplying environmentally friendly products and services, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team. This role involves developing existing business accounts, sourcing new business opportunities, and representing the company at relevant trade shows. The ideal candidate will have a consultative, proactive, and professional approach. NOTE - A proven track record in the waste water solutions or products industry is essential. This position includes international travel.

Role: Business Development Manager Where: Southampton Salary: To c�70-90,000pa depending on experience

THE ROLE:

  • Developing a customer base and increasing sales.
  • Promoting company products within marine, hotel and water industries.
  • Proactively developing the sales function in the company at all levels.
  • Proactively visiting customers to introduce products and arrange training sessions where necessary.
  • Create and update new leads database.
  • Supporting company promotions such as advertising, brochures, videos, and trade shows.
  • Demonstrating a thorough and up to date understanding of the current state of water and wastewater markets and up and coming opportunities.
  • Provide detailed sales reports weekly.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A technical background and have at least 3 years' experience in selling wastewater solutions or wastewater products industries. (Essential)
  • Have a proven record of sales growth and success.
  • Understand the water and wastewater routes to market.
  • Have sold into water companies and industrial markets.
  • Be forward thinking and bring new ideas into the business to promote growth.
  • Higher level qualification in business administration and/or engineering (Chemistry, Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechanical, Environmental).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking skills.
  • Experienced working within ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 18001 standards.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
