We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Business Development Executive to join a leading food producer & supplier company based in St Albans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, commercially driven individual who is passionate about the food sector and has a proven track record in driving business growth. The ideal candidate will have strong networking and negotiation skills, experience in developing strategic partnerships, and a deep understanding of the food industry.
Key responsibilities:
� Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
� Develop and execute a robust business development strategy to achieve sales targets and enhance market presence.
� Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, Manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders.
� Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product development, sales) to ensure cohesive go-to-market strategies.
� Conduct thorough market research to understand competitive landscape and customer needs, using insights to inform strategy.
� Lead negotiations with potential partners and clients to secure favourable terms and agreements.
� Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and areas for improvement.
� Prepare and present business proposals, sales reports, and other relevant documentation to senior management.
� Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and build new relationships.
� Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market trends to drive strategic decision-making.
About you
� Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the food industry.
� Demonstrable success in achieving sales targets and driving growth.
� In-depth knowledge of the food industry, including market trends, customer behaviour, and the regulatory environment.
� Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
� Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
� Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into strategic actions.
� Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
� Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
The salary for this position is up to �55,000 + performance related bonus.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 4.30pm - office based.
