Purpose:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, maximizing sales opportunities and achieving revenue targets. Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Foodservice and Wholesale channels, develop existing business, negotiate contracts and ensure customer satisfaction.
Your focus will be on The Bury Black Pudding Company brand and the balance across Bakery and Potted Meats.
Key Responsibilities:
* New business development in both Foodservice and wholesale markets
* Managing and developing existing customer base
* Responding promptly to new business enquiries to grow overall sales turnover
* Proactively identifying and targeting new customers
* Managing customer orders, ensuring exceptional OTIF >98.5%.
* Closely monitoring order progress and always managing customer's expectations
* Understand customer enquiries and convert them into full specification and accurate quotation
* Taking part in business and Sales meetings, offering positive contributions and communicating progress against your Sales pipeline.
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines and stay within budget
* Visiting potential customers, preparing presentations if required
* Working with Senior Managers to input into company marketing strategy
* Arranging samples to be sent out to customers
* Sales monitoring of retailer's on-line systems, where appropriate, to maximise sales and identify trends or supply problems.
* Adhere to GDPR guidelines when accessing personal, customer and company details and information
Skills/Experience Required:
* Experience working within the food or other FMCG industry is essential
* Previous experience & proven track record in a sales environment is essential
* Professionalism, confidence and tact are essential
* Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Commercially astute
* Confident to ask questions and probe customer needs with finesse
* Initiative is an essential quality - to always go the extra mile to seek a customer's satisfaction
* Good communication & organisation skills are essential
* Professional, confident, polite and helpful in all communication
* Excellent account relationship building skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent attention to accuracy and detail, must be able to prioritise workloads and work on own initiative
* Dependable, reliable, team player
* Knowledge Sage line 50 / 200, Microsoft Office, Excel
* Ability to prepare accurate and timely sales reports to monitor progress against targets.
* Driving license essential
* Previous retail experience would be an advantage.
