ABOUT US Tillicoultry Quarries is a successful and fast-growing family-owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. We operate at over thirty-one sites throughout Central Scotland, the Northeast of England, and East Anglia.
Due to our continued success and rapid growth we are seeking a dynamic and driven business development manager to join our team in our mortars and renders division. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships with our existing customer base, identifying new market opportunities and driving business growth for our dry mortar and render products. This role requires a balance of sales acumen, business development experience and technical expertise to support architects, house builders, customers, and contractors across Scotland/the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research and identify new business opportunities, areas for growth and market trends.
Build and maintain strong relationship with new andexisting customers through regular contact and relationship building.
Work collaboratively with the commercial team, production and support functions.
Regularly review and report on business development activities and attend sales team meetings.
Promote products and systems to generate leads through architects, approved applicators, builders merchants, distributors, house builders, and the self-build market.
Carry out on-site visits to support architects, applicators, and contractors, ensuring correct product specification and usage.
Provide training to merchants and attend training days to ensure all participants are well-informed about product applications and benefits.
Obtain and maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge, staying updated on new developments and technologies.
Provide product and technical advice to both new and existing customers, ensuring they have the necessary support, literature, and samples.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU? Proven experience in a business development and sales role.
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Strong client relationship management with the ability to develop long-term relationships with customers.
Strong work ethic with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and flexibly, organising own workload to achieve targets.
Ability to work in collaboration with cross functional teams.
Experience within mortars and renders sales would be advantageous.
