Company Overview:
A prestigious London-based law firm, renowned for delivering high-quality legal advice and exceptional client service, is seeking a skilled Data & Business Intelligence Specialist. The firm serves a diverse range of clients, including individuals, families, businesses, financial services, educational institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. They pride themselves on their pragmatic approach, technical excellence, and commitment to maintaining long-standing client relationships.
Role Scope:
The Data & Business Intelligence Specialist will play a crucial role within the existing Data & BI team, focusing on the administration, development, and optimization of the firm's data infrastructure. This role is key to enhancing the firm's use of business data, improving the delivery of insights to key clients and stakeholders, and maximizing the value derived from the firm's data assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain SQL Server databases to ensure reliable access and optimal performance.
Ensure the integrity, security, backup, disaster recovery, and availability of data systems.
Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions, including SSRS, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
Collaborate with various business areas to design, develop, and deploy data products as needed.
Oversee data integration across firm-wide systems, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Document the data architecture and environment to maintain an accurate overview of the data landscape.
Act as a technical lead or resource on project work as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve database access and performance issues.
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels and conduct database security audits.
Where applicable, leverage Microsoft cloud services (Azure, Power Platform, Fabric) for the delivery of data solutions.
Technical Skills:
Strong experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL writing and performance tuning.
Proven experience in building BI solutions and dashboards using tools like Power BI or SSRS.
Experience with ETL processes and familiarity with some of the following technologies:
Microsoft SSIS
Microsoft Power Platform
Microsoft Fabric
Azure Data Factory
Azure DevOps
Notebooks and Spark/Python
APIs
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in the legal sector is highly desirable, particularly with Aderant PMS and Intapp products, including Integration Builder or Intapp Integration Services.
