Business Rates Surveyor

Dove & Hawk have partnered with a Consultancy that specialises in innovation funding and tax relief. Having experienced continued growth and significant investment into the Property Tax division, they are now looking to recruit a Rating Surveyor to join the Business Rates team. With a large client base they are looking for an experienced Rating Surveyor who can provide coverage across the Midlands and North of England. This role can either be hybrid OR remote depending on the needs of the appointed person.
Duties/Functions of the role:

• Deliver expert advice on business rates appeals and mitigation strategies to major clients across a wide range of commercial real estate sectors.
• Manage a dedicated client portfolio, generated through new business secured by the in-house business development team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
• Provide guidance and support to developer and landlord clients throughout the development process, including handling deletion/RV appeals, completion notices, and mitigation planning.
• Prepare and compile documentation for tribunal cases as required.

Requirements of the role:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in Business Rates surveying.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of rating legislation and relevant case law.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering rating advice and successfully negotiating appeals through the Check, Challenge, Appeal process.
• Competent in general surveying and property inspection techniques.
• MRICS qualification is preferred, though not essential.

Salary Budgets: £50-60,000pa Basic Salary, plus bonus giving an OTE of £80-90,000pa

Required working hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Hybrid or Remote)
