Buyer

Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a permanent Buyer to work in Gateshead at our client's engineering facility. As a Buyer you will be responsible for an array of procurement activities, from materials to commodities and services, ensuring deliveries are on time, to cost and quality.
The Role:
Following up with suppliers
Expediting purchase orders
Manage purchase order confirmations
Invoice reconciliation
Contact vendors when there are discrepancies
Updating the team and stakeholders about any delays or problems with suppliers
Stock control and to buy reports
Researching new products and suppliers
Negotiating contracts with suppliers
Presenting cost analyses to the department
Maintaining records of supplier contracts
Staying up to date with industry & market trends
Maintaining strong relationships with vendors
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Personal development and training (CIPS)
Any other duties as requested or assigned by the Purchasing Manager
Skills and Experience:
Purchasing or Supply Chain related qualification or working towards
Experience in a buying or procurement role
Manufacturing environment experience would be beneficial
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Fully on-site
