Permanent Buyer required for Lisburn. The successful candidate will develop and manage a portfolio of suppliers, both existing and new. You will build and maintain relationships with branches, providing the service they require in order to help them increase sales and profitability. Duties will include: Purchasing Manage supplier agreements and negotiate best terms Report changes in the market and its influencing factors to Senior Management Maintain stocks of group products agreed for central distribution Source new products to add to the company product portfolio and present to sales team Liaise with suppliers to provide regular product promotions for the group Review and action monthly reports on outstanding purchase orders Identify purchasing opportunities and discuss with Director Monitor and advise accounts to purchase Currencies to cover exchange rates for products bought outside UK Where appropriate use supplier intranet sites to place orders Source non stock items as requested by sales teams Using data analysis and KPIs to advise and inform decisions on purchase opportunities Develop local and national supplier options through responsible sourcing Deliver a successful outcome through a collaborative approach with other members of the team and throughout the Group Companies Manage product range within category in line with trends and demands while forward purchasing to ensure stock availability is maintained and sales potential is maximised Create a positive ethos gaining buy in from both internal and external stakeholders from proactive relationship management Work with Group Stock Controllers in reviewing and action of aged stock reports for all branches to reduce levels by selling or returning to supplier Review and manage core stock lines for the Group Stock Controllers Suppliers Grow and develop supplier relationships by being easy to do business with, through delivering exemplar commercial opportunities which coupled with effective analysis and negotiation skills will deliver growth in direct and ex-yard sales within customer base Work with Purchase Ledger to resolve supplier queries and unresolved supplier returns Ensure rebate terms from non-Fortis suppliers are issued and retained Meet with suppliers on regular basis to review business ensuring best terms are negotiated for the company and agree strategy forward for the benefit of both parties Travel as necessary to visit suppliers, attend Trade Exhibitions and attend training courses Any other duties required.
