Our client are looking for a strong buyer to work in their procurement team managing a set of commodities. This role involves the sourcing of goods, managing suppliers and developing procurement strategies.

Description

  • Source and procure goods and services in line with organisation requirements.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Develop procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Lead and represent the Supply Chain Department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast future supply needs.
  • Handle issues relating to quality, cost, delivery and inventory management.

Profile

A successful Buyer should have:

  • Minimum 3+ years previous experience in a similar role within the engineering sector.
  • Experience using an MRP system.
  • Strong negotiation and strategic thinking skills.
  • Good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Experience of technical drawings.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
