Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our client who is a world leader in defence technology in Newport, Isle of Wight. The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing parts and materials to support business operations. This includes processing purchasing requisitions and purchase orders, tracking orders, and maintaining inventory. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure procurement decisions align with business needs and inventory status.

Responsibilities and Tasks for the Buyer Job:

  Administer transactional purchase orders based on internal requirements.

  Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure that quality, cost, and lead time requirements are met.

  Support internal stakeholders by ensuring that all quality, lead time, and cost requirements are clearly defined before requesting quotations and committing to purchases.

  Identify purchasing requirements based on firm and forecasted production schedules.

  
  


• 
  

  Expedite existing order book to ensure timely delivery.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor and adjust orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet internal demands.

  Regularly update internal stakeholders on the status of open orders.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist in resolving issues related to non-conforming parts received from suppliers.

  
  


• 
  

  Adhere to internal procurement processes and contribute to their continual development.

  
  


• 
  

  Participate in internal auditing activities to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  
  


• 
  

  Support additional duties within the operations department as required.
