Buying Manager Central London – Hybrid Working £55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus & BenefitsI am currently recruiting for an experienced Buying Manager to join an established and well-loved national high street retailer. This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused Buying / Category Manager to join the expanding Food to go team in their London head office function (Hybrid Working options available).You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Buying to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the Food to go department. As a Buying Manager some of your duties will include.Lead your team of Buyers to manage their individual categoriesBuilding & maintaining strong relationships with suppliersEnsuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.Plan & deliver specific promotions & events within your department Attending trade shows / outlets, supplier markets Negotiate the best possible contracts & terms. Plan & forecast ahead 6/12-month future strategiesMonitor continual competitor and price analysis to stay aheadPresenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management teamDevelop the Buying team to ensure they fulfil their individual career potential.Key requirements for the role.Proven previous experience as a Buying / Category Manager within a fast-moving FMCG (ideally Food)environment. Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.Strong leadership skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
