Job Vacancy:   Registered Nurse in a Care Home

You must hold a valid and active NMC pin with an Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disabilities qualification.

Your role will be caring for patients requiring Nursing, Palliative, Dementia, Residential & Elderly Care.  Working for a welcoming, comfortable care home that is nationwide and CQC registered as good.

Hours: Part-Time or Full-Time (24 – 48 hours per week)

Shift:                                               12-hour shifts that can be worked on a rolling rota each week between the hours of 08:00 – 20:00 or 20:00 08:00 four weeks in advance and include alternative weekend working.

Salary:                                            £21.00 per hour.

Description of Role:

Managing Medication – administering medication, responsible for ordering, receiving and auditing all medication that is stored in the care home.  Reviewing of medication.  Checking that administration of medication is properly recorded as stated in the guidelines set by the NMC and NICE.

Completing Assessments and Personalised Care Plans – consideration of assessments that highlight the needs and risks faced by the residents in the care planning process.

Leading a Care Team – ensuring that the care team works together whilst actively supporting the care staff.  Working in a mentor-like capacity, you will make sure that the care staff work to the same high standards that you set as an example.

Coordinating Multi-Disciplinary Teams – working alongside many different professionals in the health and social care sector from registering new residents with the local GP to making referrals across various health care specialists such as psychiatrists, occupational therapist teams, and nutritionists whilst maintaining strong relationships with the residents within the home.

Communication and Record-Keeping – Good documentation and communication skills are necessary for all aspects of caring for the well-being of others. Responsibility will be with you on ensuring that all changes to monitoring forms, care plans, and risk assessments are conducted in line with the guidelines of the home and the policies and procedures within.
