Caretaker and Handyperson

Permanent position

�12.44 per hour

Stafford

Days Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm

To provide an effective caretaking service in all aspects of building caretaking, maintenance, and security.

To maintain and clean all areas of the business to a high standard including all office and Warehouse areas

Duties of a Caretaker and Handyperson

  • Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required by carrying out non-specialist building maintenance work, e.g., plumbing, glazing, carpentry, decorating etc, where such work is agreed as being within the reasonable capacity of normal handyperson / DIY Skills
  • Undertake maintenance work when required
  • Liaise with, monitor, and assist contractors who are onsite carrying out repairs and maintenance work.
  • To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to Line Manager.
  • Ensure all power tools are serviced regularly and take out of use any equipment that is faulty or damaged and report the need for repair / replacement.

Cleaning Duties:

  • To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the business on a daily basis ensuring that the cleaning schedule, frequency of tasks and standards are met at all times.
  • To perform a range of cleaning tasks including hoovering, dusting, mopping. To effectively clean offices, meeting, training rooms, washrooms and shower rooms, kitchens, canteen facilities and to support the cleaning of the warehouse.
  • Clear outside hard areas e.g., yard, carparks, paths, and entrances, collect all litter, dispose of in the appropriate waste bin.
  • Clean gullies and drains at surface level.
  • Clean the warehouse floor, stairs and surfaces, removing all debris and dispose of in the appropriate waste bin.
  • Check all warehouse bins daily and empty when full, ensuring the correct waste stream goes into the correct skip.
