Pay Scale: £80 to £90 per Day

The Role:

GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caretaker to join a supportive Secondary School in Doncaster. As a Caretaker, you will be instrumental in managing the school's security and maintenance, handling various handyperson tasks, and ensuring the facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Your work as a Caretaker will align with the school's vision and values, contributing positively to the development and safety of the students while adhering to safeguarding policies and school’s compliance.

The successful candidate will:

• Oversee daily operations of school facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections and implement necessary measures to safeguard students, staff, and visitors.
• Manage the site budget efficiently, seeking cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Lead and motivate the facilities team, providing guidance to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.
• Coordinate with staff, administrators, and external contractors to address maintenance issues and manage projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in facilities management or a related field.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.

To work with GSL Education as a Caretaker, you should:

• Currently reside and have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV (covering at least 10 years) with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
