About the Role

As a Category Buyer, you'll be part of a team focused on procurement categories in IT, HR, and Factory Services. Your typical day-to-day will include meeting with suppliers, work on tenders and RFIs, implementing supplier agreements and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Manager/Head of Procurement in preparing RFI, RFQ, and ITT documents
• Source new suppliers and materials
• Implement supplier agreements
• Negotiate with suppliers
• Implement category plans
• Be accountable for achieving agreed targets and objectives

About You

As an Category Buyer you will have previous procurement experience and a University degree or equivalent qualification that demonstrates your ability to work with complex numeric and verbal data that will be used for contract negotiations.

Key Skills

• Previous buying experience
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong written and communication skills
• Developing knowledge of negotiation, contract law, manufacturing, value engineering, forecasting, competitor analysis, market structure and analysis, project management
• MCIPS / equivalent, or working towards, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and learning
• Ideally have working knowledge of SAP

The role is based at our Head Office in Birmingham, with an expectation to be on-site 2-3 days per week.
