Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant - Picker to support their operations in a busy food service environment. Position Details:
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hourly Rate: �11.44
Start Date: March 1, 2024
End Date: June 1, 2024
Working Pattern: Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
Shifts: 4 on, 4 off from 07:00 to 19:00

Location : Great Western Hospital, Marlborough Rd, Swindon SN3 6BB

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient meals are correctly picked and packed, in line with Saffron picking and packing reports.
• Work closely with the Catering Team Leader to maintain high standards.
• Operate in a cold environment (under 5 degrees) while performing picking duties.
• Load regeneration ovens and monitor food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain hygiene standards in the Picking Room and ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO methods.
• Engage with patients and Trust staff courteously to enhance their food and beverage experience.
• Perform daily checks on fridge and freezer temperatures and report any issues as needed.
• Complete all tasks in accordance with Health and Safety, Quality policies, and documentation requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Good basic education with strong reading and writing skills.
• Experience working within a food service environment.
• Customer service skills and clear verbal communication.
• Understanding of hygiene, safety, and special diet awareness.
• Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
• Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

Additional Information:
