Job Role: Certification Assessor
Location: Kettering, Northants
Salary: £24,000.00 - £28,000.00
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Certification Assessor to work within their PPE Certification department in Kettering.
About The Department
Our clients PPE Certification team spans the UK, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Finland, Turkey and China and is responsible for the technical assessment of PPE against both the EU and UK PPE Regulations.
The technical assessments conducted by the expert team ensure that products are fit for purpose and comply with the relevant international standards. If successful in their assessment, the manufacturer of these products may affix the CE/UKCA mark to their product.
This business is heavily guided by regulation, and it's required to operate a robust UKAS and INAB accredited ISO 17065 quality management system (QMS).
About The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader and working closely with colleagues throughout the department and our corporate Quality team.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out certification assessments of PPE products in accordance with the relevant standard and PPE Regulation 2016/425
Understanding and interpreting PPR performance standards
Assessing technical documentation and preparing draft certificates
Working closely with clients and customers to communicate standard requirements, details of certification process and work progress updates
Preparation of quotations for work undertaken
Possibly attending external technical meetings and participation in standardisation committees
About You
Essential
A broad technical background and understanding
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work on own initiative and enthusiasm
Logical and methodical working
Experience of working with customers
Ability to adapt to change
Excellent organisation, communication, project and time management skills
Competent in Microsoft Office
Ability and willingness to travel (UK and overseas)
Desirable
Attainment of Science based degree
Experience of working in a test laboratory
Knowledge of PPE industry
Understanding of European legislation relating to CE marking, gained from a manufacturing, test and certification or supply chain environment
Experience of travel
Languages
