About the role
We are seeking a Change and Release Manager to lead our Digital department through a significant transformation, as we move from a traditional ITIL framework to a modern DevOps methodology. This position plays a key role in driving the evolution of our Change and Release processes as we embark on a Cloud migration journey and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration of new practices while balancing business needs, risks, and team collaboration.
As the Change and Release Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams and manage relationships across the organization to ensure that releases are delivered smoothly and with minimal disruption. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic and fast-paced team, championing automation, agility, and modern software delivery practices.
What you'll be doing
Lead the transition from the ITIL-based change management approach to a DevOps-driven model, embedding agile practices throughout the digital department.
Oversee the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that these pipelines are well-integrated into the change and release processes.
Support the department's migration to cloud platforms by developing change and release strategies that support cloud-native technologies and architectures.
Own and govern the end-to-end release management process, ensuring quality, efficiency, and risk management in every release.
Establish and continuously improve a DevOps-based change management process that aligns with agile and cloud-native principles.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across teams, encouraging the use of modern tools and practices.
Track and report on release and change metrics (e.g., success rates, deployment times, rollback rates) to measure the efficiency of processes.
Provide regular status updates to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements, risks, and areas for improvement.
About you
Proven experience in a Change and Release Management role, preferably in an agile, DevOps, or cloud-native environment.
Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
Experience leading transformation projects, particularly moving from traditional ITIL to DevOps-based methodologies.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and familiarity with cloud migration strategies.
Excellent leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and working with senior stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges and make decisions under pressure.
Experience with automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and familiarity with containers (Kubernetes, etc).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
