Checkpoint Firewall Engineer

Job Title: Firewall Engineer
Location: Halifax, 2 days onsite per week
Remuneration: �600 - �700 per day
Contract Details: Contract (6 months) + Extensions

Responsibilities:
Are you ready to step into a pivotal role as a Firewall Engineer? We are looking for a skilled professional to support firewall programmes within the dynamic financial sector. Here's what you'll be diving into:

• Analyse the existing firewall estate to understand current setups and requirements.
• Collaborate closely with a Network Management partner to deliver robust solutions.
• Design and implement strategies for firewall hardware migration, ensuring a seamless transition between technologies.
• Maintain a keen eye for detail to match solutions with agreed requirements.
• Utilise your expertise to enhance security measures and optimise network configurations.

Skills:
To excel in this role, you'll need:

• Proven experience in Firewall Design and implementation, particularly with Check Point.
• Strong skills in Networking configuration and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of Cisco products and network analysis techniques.
• Command line proficiency with Cisco ASA configuration (essential).
• Familiarity with Check Point R81 (essential) and R82 (preferred).
• Practical experience with Fortinet products is a bonus!
