The Chef de Partie Role:
The role of the Chef de Partie is to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen whilst ensuring all food is produced to a consistent high standard.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Chef de Partie;
Previous experience is essential as well as a very good level of both spoken and written English language and you must be able to work shifts and weekends.
The ability to supervise in the absence of senior chefs.
To be able to deal with pressure and accommodate last minute bookings.
Work with fresh produce as assigned ensuring these are prepared on time and meet the highest quality and quantity standards.
Ensuring freshness and suitability of products used by the kitchen and that food is stored correctly.
Identifying items for ordering and when appropriate placing orders.
Controls costs by minimising spoilage, waste, proper storage and exercising strict portion control.
To assist in the development of any junior staff members where appropriate.
Ensuring every section is left clean and tidy at all times and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas in the kitchen.
Ensure HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets.
Has passion, creativity, imagination and inspiration
A team player attitude
Level 2 food hygiene certificate
Excellent organisational and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use own initiative
Ability to work under pressure maintaining a positive can do attitude
Highly motivated with a drive to succeed and be the best
It would be advantageous in this position to demonstrate the following skills and attributes
Previous experience in hotels, or ideally in a similar busy kitchen
You must be able to deliver a consistent level of service under the pressure of guests requirements always with a keen eye for detail
