Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for a Chef to join our client's local nursery located in Bedlington - this role is temporary ongoing to cover long term sickness and holidays.

What's on offer?

• Monday to Friday
• £12.30 per hour - paid weekly

Working as a Chef, your duties and responsibilities

• Create menus, prepare and cook food - noting any special dietary needs
• Source, place and manage orders for necessary food ingredients and kitchen cleaning consumables
• Check and record all food and kitchen consumables deliveries, quantities of ingredients used and the number of meals produced and served
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, its equipment and surrounding areas
• Ensure the Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times
• Report faults in equipment and request necessary day to day maintenance of premises
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job
• Support room staff with meal times and helping to serve food, encouraging children to eat and always seek to improve the quality of service
• Ensure that child protection and safeguarding procedures are always prioritised

To be successful within this role you will have a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate, and a Food allergens certificate. Combined with the following traits:

• Enhanced DBS certificate
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work well as part of a team and individually
• Highly motivated - Sets and achieves challenging goals
• Quality management - the ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality.
