About the Role

Position: Chef

Hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: 7am - 6pm, alternate weekends required

Flexibility: Flexibility is key; willingness to cover porter duties as needed

Job Description

Our Client is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join their team at a nursing home based in Wallingford. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating nutritious and delicious meals for residents while ensuring a high standard of hygiene and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences


• Ensure all meals are served on time and to a high standard


• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment


• Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed


• Comply with all health and safety regulations


• Cover porter duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

Skills and Qualities

• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a care home or similar environment


• Strong culinary skills and a passion for food


• Excellent organizational and time management skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• High level of professionalism and reliability


• Flexibility to cover alternate weekends and porter duties as needed
