James Stevens Associates are delighted to be working with a Social Housing provider in search for their new CEO.The organisation work with managing agents to provide accommodation with support to homeless individuals who fall under the definition of multiple disadvantaged.
Within their portfolio, they provide specialist services for domestic violence, substance rehabilitation and refugees. Since the organisations conception they are proud to have been able to have supported over 10,000 people into accommodation who would otherwise have faced homelessness.The organisation are a wonderful not for profit regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing now looking to add to their already vastly experienced board.Role: Chief Executive OfficerSalary: £100,000 + (Negotiable for the right level of experience)Location: West MidlandsOffice Presence: 2 days per week with rest of week flexibleThe Role:The Chief Executive’s principal responsibilities are:·
Strategic Development and Management of the Company;·
Leadership of the Senior Management Team;·
Management of control functions, financial and other risks and compliance with applicable law·
and regulations;·
Communication with stakeholders; and·
Reporting to the Board. The Chief Executive Officer shall ensure that all of their responsibilities are discharged to the highest levels of integrity, quality and transparency and in a manner most likely to promote the success of the Company.The Chief Executive Officer will promote a culture which gives appropriate priority to tenants’ and other clients’ best interests and ensures the CIC’s strategy and business model are appropriately aligned with those interests. This includes ensuring that conduct risks within the business are identified, monitored and mitigated to the standards expected at the organisation.We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience working in highly regulated environments, demonstrating a thorough understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.Key elements of the roleThe Chief Executive shall:·
Drive the ongoing development of the organisational strategy and business plan·
Develop a clear sense of purpose, direction and prioritisation Leadership·
Provide strategic leadership to drive the development and delivery of high quality, inclusive services·
Build a Leadership Team able to deliver operational excellence through their teams·
Lead, empower and develop the senior management team to ensure that corporate objectives are achieved·
Provide clear, progressive and innovative leadership in times of changePerson Specification1.
Experience·
Proven self starter with experience with a strong track record in social housing provision or related sector·
Demonstrates evidence of working either at Board level or as part of a senior management team either in housing sector or a related sector·
Able to evidence string management skill at senior level and effective implementation of core business strategies·
Can demonstrate effective ownership and management of financial budgets and evidence to translate these effectively into business plans 2.

Is an ambassador when promoting a culture of openness and honesty as well as promoting equality and diversity to support effective services for tenants as well as diversity amongst colleagues·
Demonstrates good ability when measuring and assessing legal and/or operational risks and shows ability to deliver business plans in an appropriately non risk adverse manner·
Demonstrates a high level of negotiating, influencing and interpersonal skills with internal colleagues and external partnerships·
Understanding and commitment to performance management and ability to create effective partnerships 3.
Qualifications and Knowledge·
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in housing or related sector.·
Knowledge in business planning, financial accounts and management strategies·
Knowledge of issues affecting disabled people or older people·
Familiarity of wider role played by housing associations·
Knowledge of managing senior roles effectively·
Proven achievements in diversity and inclusion 4.
