Extern is a community and voluntary organisation operating for almost 50 years in Northern Ireland and 21 years in the Republic of Ireland working alongside its funding partners to provide solutions to some of the most challenging societal issues. Its mission is to help families, young people and individuals who are most marginalised in our society. To build resilience and create pathways to safety, stability, security, and a new future to the people we support through a continuum of service delivery. Every year Extern supports some 20,000 individuals and families across the Island, Extern currently employs more than 500 compassionate and dedicated staff operating from over 40 bases. Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation. The Job: Provide leadership to the organisation and have overall responsibility for delivering the charitys strategic direction and outcomes. Ensure that the highest service standards are delivered through the development of appropriate policies and plans. Support the vision and strategy determined by the Boards and lead the development and implementation of programmes that meet the need of the communities in which Extern operates, as well as its funders and other stakeholders. The Person: A minimum of two years senior management experience reporting to Chief Executive Officer / Board. A minimum of three years experience of managing a budget in excess of £10 million/€10 million. A minimum of three years experience of building and leading teams using an inclusive and empowering leadership style.
