Chief Finance Officer - £75,000 per annum + Benefits York Minster is a busy, interesting and diverse place to work, with a team of 200 members of staff and over 400 volunteers welcoming around 150,000 worshippers and 550,000 visitors each year. This is a truly unique opportunity to join this registered charity as their Chief Finance officer at a time when they are investing in significant growth plans. An ambitious Neighbourhood Plan for the development and redevelopment of major elements of the Precinct and a strong sustainability agenda to achieve Net Zero means this is an organisation moving forwards at pace with a clear strategy out to 2030. A significant capital project to deliver a new Centre of Excellence concept for heritage craft and estate management skills will complete this summer and be a key element to further diversification of income to the business which supports the operation of the Minster itself. You will join and be part of and ambitious leadership team and help continue the legacy of making a profound and positive impact on the community and a lasting legacy for the future of York Minster. As the CFO, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy, ensuring that every penny received is maximised to its fullest potential to support their charitable purpose. You ll also deputise for the Chapter Steward (the senior lay officer in the organisation) in this high profile role. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals who share a dedication to making a difference and living the York Minster values of integrity, purpose, compassion and humility. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with senior executive leadership and trustees to develop and execute financial strategies that align with their mission and values. Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting processes to optimise resource allocation and drive sustainable growth. Provide strategic guidance on financial decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Foster a culture of transparency collaboration and accountability across the organisation, empowering people with the authority to make informed financial decisions. Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally to help secure funding and support for initiatives. Qualifications: A qualified accountant with proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, strong stakeholder engagement experience. Experience or exposure working with a charitable organisation would be advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and inspire others. A commitment to the organisation's mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact on the community.
