Education Development Trust (EDT) is a for-purpose organisation working to improve education outcomes around the world. EDT’s vision is to positively advance education and transitions into work through expert research on what delivers such outcomes. The organisation combines global research and longstanding expertise with regional knowledge to inform education policy and practice, and deliver programmes around the world. The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) is a critical appointment that will play a key strategic role ensuring EDT is at the forefront of educational transformation and able to rapidly scale and diversify the impact the business is delivering both in the UK and Internationally. Reporting to the CEO, the CGO will lead the strategy, design and development of new sales and channels, marketing and customer services activities. This includes the organisation’s sales and revenue pipeline, new business development and customer relationship management, ensuring all are fully aligned with the overall company strategy, keeping abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic direction. Essential skills and experience
Successful track record of strategic planning, sales, business development and customer relationship management.
Proven track record of achieving and/or exceeding targets and driving growth within the UK and international markets.
Experienced and seasoned in building, leading, motivating and developing a multi-dimensional team, with a track record of both team and personal success and growth.
Current knowledge of best-practice techniques in strategic growth in complex organisations (operations and control as well as analysis and commercial).
Demonstrable post qualification experience at a strategic level of leading corporate service functions and of making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
Ability to lead engagement of complex program and consulting solutions to ministries, funding agencies and educational institutions.
Customer focused with the composure and flexibility needed to ensure successful delivery in a high-profile sales and service environment.
Ability to understand the importance of client relationship management and have the gravitas to work and influence at a senior level and the intellectual capacity to understand and explain complexities.
Strong interpersonal skills, an ability to eloquently convey complex ideas and a good instinct for business with a focus on continual service improvement.
Committed to the success of the project, and a great team player.
Dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic, able to multi-task and focus on the detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Understand the nuances of the educational and employability market and stakeholders.
Ability to demonstrate clear vision, plans and decisions enabling clear consistent financial and commercial decision making and guidance to the Executive and Non-Executive Boards.
