Responsibilities

• Providing calm leadership, motivating and supporting team members in a demanding environment.
• Representing social work within the IRD process, collaborating with partners, and updating relevant information.
• Leading a statutory child and families team with expertise in IRD decision-making.
• Managing cases, with a focus on high-risk child protection work.
• Providing case management support to staff, ensuring high-quality assessments and timely responses to risks.
• Reviewing staff reports and ensuring the highest quality of work.
• Collaborating with colleagues in police, health, and education.
• Leading and supporting a team dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and families.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with a Degree or equivalent in Social Work
• Registered with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council)
• Strong knowledge and experience of child protection procedures and legislation.
• Experience managing a children and families team
